Beth, you did an amazing job on your presentation. I had many students this past year and wish I had your presentation last September, because I learned a lot. Great job!
Your presentation was very informative. I admit I did not know much about the Arabic language and really appreciated the information your provided through this presentation.
I loved your Prezi presentation. I love how things fly in at you and then fly out. The 3D effect only added to the great information provided in the slide show. I think it is interesting that your case study did not speak until he was 2. I wonder if he was making noise and sounds or nothing until 2?
I too learned a lot from this presentation, you did a really great job with it. The explanations and information on the language were excellent because I really do not know much at all about Arabic and have heard it is extremely difficult to learn.
Your prezi was great. Loved the effects you added it just made it more engaging. Good job with the information too very informative and useful to apply in the transfer of language development.
Your presentation was great! I really liked your explanations for the errors that Alex made, and how you noted that some may have been due to a learning disability and not just the language difference. Your instructional implications at the end were good and I'm sure they would help your student with his errors!
I have found it quite..interesting to teach EAL students who are also SEN. Very grand presentation. I liked your detailed list of errors. I will keep an eye out for them with my EAL Arabic students.
While reading your presentation, I wondered what it must feel like for someone to change the direction in which the read. We take for granted how ingrained it is in us, but for our students, it may be a real struggle.
Your presentation was very informative. Your prezi provided great visuals and kept me engaged. Arabic is a language I do not know much about but after viewing your presentation I gathered important and useful information. Well done :-)
Good Prezi! The biographicl information on you student was very intersesting. Having PDD diagnosis has to make learning a second language that much more difficult. Thanks for the great information.

Great research on the language! Also, it was neat to view the information in the Prezi format.

ReplyDeleteBeth, great job! I learned a lot about Arabic. It is really interesting that there are only 3 vowels in Arabic. Thanks!

ReplyDeleteGreat information about the Arabic language. This will help us next year with our two students that speak Arabic. Awesome job!
ReplyDeleteGreat job! Your student seems like he has many needs, and I wonder too what is related to Arabic and what is related to his diagnosis.
